I don't want to make this a long explanation thing, My stepdaughter comes home from some barbecue she went to with her mom and tells me when she gets home that some french teacher at school told her she was the most antisocial person she has ever met. Now Sam and Jordan take this as almost a compliment Because Jordan is going through her Goth phase.
I, however, have mixed feelings about this, Firstly, Why should any Teacher ever tell a student they are Antisocial? Secondly, Sam and Jordan aren't taking the definition of what Antisocial really is into context, That that it as a person who just doesn't want to be social, But Antisocial is the word the French teacher used. This french teacher is a Language Arts teacher, No one can convince me she used the word off the cuff not knowing the literal definition of its use.
Truly antisocial people are borderline psychopaths they are dangerous people, The reason this upsets me is her teacher says this in front of her class and other students. This is applying a possibly dangerous and lasting label to someone publicly.
I feel this thing that Jordan and Sam take so light-heartedly was out of place and uncalled for and the woman needs to maybe watch her damned mouth. Perhaps I'm taking things out of context, But, I don't feel I am.
What do you guys think? How would you feel/respond if some teacher told your child they are Antisocial in front of their class?
I'll get over this, but I feel my anger is justified.
