Runner encounters terrifying ‘nightmarcher’ demon during 100-mile race in Hawaii rainforest

Run for your life.

A Hawaiian runner said she was left with literal “goosebumps” after unknowingly encountering an alleged “nightmarcher” demon during a grueling 100-mile race in Oahu, Hawaii, as seen in a spine-tingling video.

“To this day, we still don’t know what it was,” Kay Borleis wrote in a blog post detailing the alleged shadowy entity.

An avid runner since age 14, the art director and designer specializes in ultramarathons, defined as any run longer than 26.2 miles.

This particular incident allegedly occurred in January 2019, while Borleis was competing in the HURT 100 mile race, a grueling 20-mile loop through Oahu’s Honolulu Mauka trails that participants run five times.

The runner said this race is especially “brutal” due to the numerous obstacles, including thick mud-caked roots, numerous water crossings, cliffs, and steep, rocky inclines.

The competition was going swimmingly until Borleis injured her foot during her second to last lap and had to pull out of the race — marking the first time she’d ever done so in her ultramarathon career.

That’s when things took a turn for the terrifying. After getting home and regrouping, Borleis’ pacing partner Cassie sent a bunch of photos from her race to her mom and friends.

“It was a “live” (moving photo) that showed a dark figure dressed in a cloak moving past me while I was running,” wrote Borleis while describing the alleged Nightmarcher.kayborleis.com

Shortly thereafter, Cassie received a text about one of the moving photos, which depicted “a dark figure dressed in a cloak moving past me while I was running,” per the blog.

Accompanying footage shows Borleis jogging along the shady jungle trail, when all of a sudden, a shadowy entity emerges from the foliage and walks past her.

However, neither the ultramarathoner nor her running partner recalled “passing a person on that strip of trail.”

“The reason why no one was on that part of trail is because all runners had to run in a clockwise direction,” she explained in the blog.

“And tourists weren’t out that early. We didn’t see anyone for hours while running together. So, we were — and still are — positive there was no one there.”

Alarmed, Borleis did some digging about the area, where they found a local legend claiming that the region is roamed by the ghosts of deceased Hawaiian warriors called Nightmarchers.

According to Honolulu Magazine, these rainforest revenants “supposedly traveled at night to protect people so sacred that the common man was never allowed to look at them. Breaking that rule meant death.”

If found in a Nightmarcher’s path, mortals should strip naked and lie face down to avoid looking at them, per the mag.

Folklore dictates that peeing on oneself will also keep them alive, as will sharing a bloodline with one of the tropical specters in the procession.

Borleis said she was lucky she didn’t spot the alleged forest spirit until after the fact.

Unfortunately, the Hawaiian people accused Borleis of spinning a yarn.

After uploading the pics to social media, the cross-country competitor was swarmed by haters, who called her and Cassie “haoles” (a local pejorative for white people) and wished she’d meet a Nightmarcher for real so she’d die a “violent death.”

Some accused Borleis of doctoring the image while others claimed it was just a “druggie” wandering up the trail.

Hitman with false identity gets whacked. I'd like to think the police didn't just kill him in lieu of arresting him.

Family man gunned down in front of wife and son was actually a hitman wanted by Interpol

Reverse-searching for Geisler’s photos online helped police identify him as a Serbian hitman wanted in Montenegro for multiple homicides and possession of weapons and explosives, Jam Press reported. Montenegrin authorities confirmed that Geisler was a contract killer.

Police now believe that Geisler had lived in Brazil for nine years, hiding his identity after he fled Montenegro for Bosnia following the execution of a man at a prison gate on Christmas Day in 2014. He disappeared after that, resurfacing now that he has met his end.

Police in Thailand have arrested a woman whose pet lion was pictured going on a joyride in the streets of Pattaya.
A video that has now gone viral shows the chained lion cub seated in the back of a white, open-top Bentley.
The lion was being driven about by a Sri Lankan man who has since left the country, and is believed to be a friend of the woman, Sawangjit Kosoongnern.
While it is not illegal to own a lion in Thailand, it needs to be officially registered.
Authorities in Thailand said Ms Sawangjit claimed to have bought the animal from a Thai man in Nakhon Pathom province, who successfully facilitated its delivery to Pattaya.
However he failed to have his facility checked by officials before doing so, which made both the transfer and ownership of the animal illegal.
She is therefore facing charges of possessing a controlled wild animal without permission, which carries a penalty of a year's imprisonment and a fine of up to 100,000 baht ($2,800; £2,200).
Police were also reportedly looking to charge the Sri Lankan man, who had kept the lion in his rented pool villa, but were unable to as he is no longer in Thailand. He was due to be charged with bringing a controlled wild animal into public places, which carries jail time of up to six months and a fine of 50,000 baht.
The man who sold the lion to Ms Sawangjit will also face charges of moving an animal without permission.
Officials say there are currently 224 lions in Thailand that are legally owned.

Possible Goblin Sighting in Argentina Causes Stir Online

The footage was reportedly recorded by a security camera outside the home of a police officer in the town of José de San Martín on Christmas Eve. The video shows a dog barking at something off-screen, then a small, dark figure zooms past the camera, moving very fast and appearing blurry.

Some viewers have suggested that the figure could be a duende, a mythical creature from Latin American folklore that is said to be a mischievous spirit or goblin. Others have dismissed the idea, saying that the figure is either a human or an animal, or that the video is fake.

The police officer who owns the camera, told local media that he was not at home when the incident occurred, but he checked the footage later and was surprised by what he saw. He said he did not know what the figure was, but he did not believe it was a goblin. He also said that his dog was not scared by the figure, but rather curious.

The video has generated a lot of interest and comments on social media, with some users sharing their own stories and experiences with duendes or other paranormal phenomena.

A duende is a humanoid figure of folklore, with variations from Iberian, Ibero American, and Latin American cultures, comparable to dwarves, gnomes, or leprechauns.

Some have expressed fear or curiosity about the figure, while others have made jokes or memes about it. The video has also attracted the attention of paranormal researchers and investigators, who have expressed their desire to analyze the footage and interview the witnesses.

WTF, how can she mistake the oven for the baby's cribb?...And then turn on the oven too and not get charged with murder?...

...

Missouri mom, 26, is charged with baking her newborn baby daughter to death in an OVEN 'after mistaking kitchen appliance for infant's crib', leaving tortured girl's clothes melted to her diaper

A Missouri mom has been accused of baking her newborn daughter to death in an oven after allegedly mistaking it for a crib.

Mariah Thomas, 26, was charged with endangering the welfare of a child after one-month-old Za’Riah Mae was found dead with 'burn wounds', according to an arrest warrant.

Cops were called to the mom's Kansas City home to reports of a child not breathing on Friday- the day after Thomas' birthday.

When they arrived, they found the infant covered in burns, with her 'blackened' clothing melted onto her diaper.

A devastated friend of Thomas' told DailyMail.com that Za'Riah was a 'very bubbly' baby, who was 'smiling all the time'.

She also suggested Thomas' mental health may have played a role in the tragedy.

'Mariah had mental issues from what I know and didn’t have the mindset of a adult, she thought like a child,' the friend said, adding she last talked to the mom on Monday.

Za'Riah's grandfather told police he received a call from her mom at around 1pm on Friday in which she told him 'something was wrong with the baby and he needed to return home immediately'.

On returning home immediately began to smell smoke and found Za'Riah dead in her crib.

Thomas told him she had 'accidentally' put her in the oven, according to court filings.

Za'Riah was discovered by police in a car seat inside her home with 'apparent thermal injuries on various parts of a her body'.

She was wearing a bodysuit over a diaper which appeared to have melted onto it which was 'very dirty, possibly burned'.

A charred baby blanket was also discovered and taken as evidence.

A British film editor is going viral for using artificial intelligence to imagine famous historical figures such as Jesus, Cleopatra, Queen Elizabeth I and Henry VIII taking selfies. “The results are hilarious, and everyone I’ve shared my work with can’t believe how real the pictures really look,” Duncan Thomsen, 53, told SWNS. He said he uses the AI software Midjourney through the Discord app, which responds to user-set prompts and commands to generate pictures by referencing billions of images online.
Thomsen has recreated scenes from the Battle of Waterloo, the court of Cleopatra, and the Last Supper.

The programming process can be a lengthy one, as AI directs users to tell it exactly what it needs to do and requires “absolute description,” Thomsen explained.
Thomsen thinks the technology is so spot-on that it could be used to teach history in schools, calling it “time traveling without a time machine.”
“You can ask AI to be historically accurate, and then it can reference anything, anywhere, everywhere — that’s the beauty of it,” he told SWNS.

Danger has a new face after a Jack the Ripper expert used research materials to achieve the first AI rendering of the infamous 19th century serial killer.
Move over, Ted Bundy — there’s a new-old serial hottie in town.
Recently released AI-generated renderings of Jack the Ripper reveal the infamous 19th-century prostitute killer to be a dashing gentleman with a darkly alluring, wild-eyed energy.
The dangerously dreamy drawings come courtesy of Jeff Leahy, a long-time Ripper enthusiast from Carmarthen, Wales, who produced a mini-series on the murderer and has spent decades studying the lore surrounding one of history’s most infamous villains.
Using Midjourney software, along with information and available photographs of the relatives of prime suspect Aaron Kosminski, Leahy was able to produce a rather astonishing portrait of the man.

The computer generated version of the notorious madman calls to mind another infamously handsome serial killer, Ted Bundy.
“It’s astonishing to finally have an image of him. I was surprised by how striking the picture is,” Leahy told SWNS.

Personally, I think this woman has nailed it. Started her book and have to get back to it. The actual eyewitness descriptions were of a man who couldn't straighten his legs and had a bad arm - dude had a strange gait. That's this nitwit, plus he lived right there and the PoPo knew exactly who he was. They never prosecuted him because he was violently insane and died in lockup. His wife was loyal to him for who he was when he wasn't nuts - an actually caring family man who couldn't help himself. Apparently he took an axe to his mother-in-law but who could blame a feller for that? We don't know her .... and I can relate. Maybe she started all this by provoking him

Thieves Steal 200-Year-Old George Washington Painting from Colorado Storage Unit

In what sounds like a heist from a Hollywood film, thieves in Colorado have stolen a 200-year-old painting of George Washington that authorities have dubbed a "national treasure." According to a local media report, the curious case came to light in late January when the family that owns the historic portrait discovered that it had been pilfered from a storage unit in the Denver suburb of Englewood. Measuring 24 inches by 30 inches with a gold-colored frame, the artwork is said to have been painted in the early 1800s and, as such, authorities say that its value is "hard to estimate due to its historical significance."

Why, exactly, a presumably very expensive and incredibly rare piece of artwork was being kept in a suburban Denver storage unit is uncertain, though its owners say that it has been in their possession for 50 years. "It's a family heirloom," the Englewood Police Department's Crystal Essman said, "and they just want it back." To that end, the department is working in tandem with the FBI to hopefully track down the piece and the thieves before it vanishes into the art world's murky black market. Should their efforts prove successful, one hopes that the painting will ultimately wind up in a place where it can be appreciated by the public at large, rather than being tucked away in a storage unit where no one can ever see it.

Mysterious 'Thundercow' Becomes Local Legend in Oklahoma

A mysterious cow that has been seen grazing around a lake in Oklahoma for the past year has become something of a legend in the area with residents likening the elusive animal's appearances to those of Bigfoot. According to a local media report, the rather sizeable creature was first spotted sometime last year around Lake Thunderbird in the city of Norman. Over the ensuing months, an increasing number of residents reported observing the cow as it passed through their property before vanishing into the wilderness and, thanks to the power of social media, a star was soon born: Thundercow.

Recounting her encounter with the mysterious creature from earlier this year, resident Natalie Bevill recalled how "she just sort of popped out of nowhere. It startled us because it's a loose cow and it's pitch-black outside." Understandably perplexed by the odd experience, she shared her story on a local Facebook group and "I started getting post after post after post in response telling me, 'Oh, hey, that’s just Thundercow.'" In addition to tales from those who had come across the cow, residents also provided photos of the animal lurking in the wilderness in a manner not unlike Sasquatch.

While it would seem that the existence of Thundercow is fairly certain, some in the community have ascribed an almost mystical nature of the creature as no one is certain of its origins attempts to track down the animal have proven futile. "Many have tried, but no one can get her," resident Jessica Kelley explained, suggesting that the cow has managed to evade being found because "she travels in the dark." Since no one stepping forward to claim ownership of the wandering cow, the community as a whole has embraced their bovine visitor as a proverbial mascot with Bevill marveling that the "legend of Thundercow continues to grow" with each new sighting of the mysterious creature.

Cops Rescue Deer with Plastic Container Stuck on Head for Nearly Two Weeks

Police in Indiana rescued an unfortunate deer that had been wandering around with a plastic container stuck on its head for nearly two weeks. Detailing the odd intervention on their Facebook page, the Vermillion County Sheriff's Office explained that the animal's troubling predicament first came to light back on February 10th when a concerned citizen reported seeing the creature's curious condition. Although a trooper responding to the call was able to observe the deer's peculiar plight, an attempt at extricating it from the situation proved futile as the animal ultimately wound up dashing off into the woods.

Amazingly, it was not until twelve days later that another officer happened to stumble upon the deer, which still had the plastic container stuck on its head. Fortunately, in this instance, the animal was able to be rescued thanks to help from additional troopers who were enlisted to lend a hand with the operation. As for how it managed to survive nearly two weeks in the wild with a plastic jug on its head the whole time, the department indicated that the undoubtedly desperate deer "busted the bottom of the container, allowing it to eat and drink."

Face of Goblin Doll Filmed Moving?

In a bizarre story out of Bolivia, paranormal investigators have been enlisted to examine a goblin doll that was filmed seemingly moving its face. The very weird incident reportedly occurred earlier this month in the city of Le Paz at a home where the clay figurine serves as the centerpiece of what appears to be some kind of shrine. The homeowner is said to have been filming the goblin doll when its face suddenly contorted into what some have described as a grimace or perhaps a smile.

Footage of the eerie moment (seen above) understandably caught the attention of Bolivian paranormal investigators, who descended upon the house to investigate the peculiar case. Using dowsing rods, researcher Javier Cordero purportedly picked up what is described as "real energies" inside the residence. Meanwhile, his colleague Tatiana Vicuna observed the goblin doll with a night vision camera and appeared to capture an anomaly that resembled a face lingering behind the figurine.

Remarkably, the creator of the doll at the center of the curious case claims that the incident is not the first time that something supernatural has come about by way of his dolls. He went on to assert that, before being sold, they are brought to an enchanted forest where elemental beings are provided the opportunity to inhabit the figurines and serve as protector for the homeowner who eventually buys them. What do you make of this truly weird account from Bolivia?
