Driving home the car starts to sound odd, looking I see the temperature gauge climbing fast, the car has an auto-shutoff to prevent permanent damage to the engine, but I didn't let it get that far...I pulled it over immediately out in the middle of nowhere 10 miles from home, I had water, 2 gallons in the trunk, popped the hood and steam everywhere...I told that Beroth mechanic it needed a water pump a few weeks back when I had the car in the shop, he insisted it was fine because he tested it and pressure tested the entire cooling system...That's nice nice but here I am possibly stuck, I let the car cool down just a bit, 20 minutes goes by, not one car passes me, not unusual for this road though, my cell phone works fine, got good signal, I was going to call for towing if I could get it home...I poured water back in and it drank both gallons, that's all I had, 10 miles to go to get home, I start up the car, sounds great again, the temp gauge sitting where it should be, but no time to waste, I can't push the car too hard to get home but I can't take my time either, it might overheat again quickly...Fortunately it's a 55 mph road and sort of flat, with hardly any cars in the road at the time, one just passed as I was getting back on the road, I get up to speed and set the cruise control...I saw the temp rise a little but made it home, made the call to Beroth telling them I'm bringing the car back Monday morning, fix it...
