We're riding a roller coaster here -- the temperature is either way above normal or way below. Tomorrow we're back in the below normal cycle. Snow should begin a few hours before dawn and they're calling for about 2". I think we hit 60 F on Saturday. My grandmother called this "pneumonia weather".

Doesn't really need to go over the mountains for you to get a good one. The energy just needs to transfer to the Chesapeake and ride due north. Mountains won't help you there.
Think of storms as a living breathing entity. They need water to survive. Naturally a deep low will transfer to the coast. Much like this current storm will do.

I just checked the forecast and they're now saying some parts of central VA could get up to 5".

It's helping the flu outbreak, that's for sure. Cold, warm, cold, warm, that shit gets people sick with a cold, lowers immune system and make it easier to catch the flu.

I was at work and just drove back home, it's just after 7am, the roads are covered in snow and it's falling heavy still, two cars were off the road in the ditch when I drove home...

Thanks, I was up at 4 am and nothing, no snow or anything, got out of the shower and pressed my clothes, got dressed and looked again and heavy snow falling already an inch...
Drove to work and called everyone off for the day and went back home, fortunately I work about 3 miles from home..

Just a dusting here. 8 inches would be business as usual for us. Haha.
But in all reality around here the 4x4's are the first cars off the road. Those idiots put to much faith in 4x4.

Agreed.....its not much for us......but for the people down south its a problem because they probably have 8 snow plows in the entire state....lol.
I also agree with your comment on the 4x4 drivers......most don't realize that being able to stop is equally as important as going. In the snow that's much harder......lol.....but they are to stupid to know.
