I don't like to get political but I live in Virginia where the only thing they talk about in the news these days is Charlottesville and confederate statues. Terry McAuliffe, Virginia's governor, makes no secret about his ambition for higher office. Virginia has a constitutional rule that prohibits governors from running for consecutive terms so he will be out of office in January of 2018. Because Virginia Senator Tim Kaine lost his bid for Vice President, his options are somewhat limited.
I've heard from many people who claim McAuliffe ordered state police to stand down until the violence was out of hand. Allowing white hate groups and left wing militants to gather in public in a wild political orgy of protest was simply asking for violence IMHO. I personally blame McAuliffe and the Mayor of Charlottesville for not acting sooner to stop the chaos.
Just my two cents. If you disagree I respect your right to say so.

I do not really follow Virginia politics.....but the "stand down" order is a common conspiracy among those claiming to be protecting their heritage.
Personally I blame the clowns from both sides for relying on violence first, then I'd blame trump for not getting involved and only babbling about it on twitter and then the Virginia politicians.
I'm all for honoring the bravery and sacrifice of both sides in the civil war.....but since I'm against slavery I do not support the honoring of the confederate government with was based on and that fought for slavery.

Should have heard the lady who wrote the article on BBC Radio Norfolk. Like she was on some sort of crusade not only to discredit Nelson as a historical figure but to insult Norfolk (where Nelson was from) as well.
While Nelson was not all good there is no reason why there should be any discussion in tearing down any form of monument to him. He was an important figure in British history and therefore should be honoured as such.

Well this kind of thing doesn't just happen. It's not like people wake up and say to themselves; Well today I'm gonna go and deface a public monument and then protest that another one exists. These events are organized and paid for, and the media whom have killed/murdered more Americans than any other single institution are front and center.
So many people are so unethical in their own conduct, as if their bit parts in acts of destruction aren't really important, but they are because without them playing their bit parts these evils cannot take place.

In destruction there is creation, and it's the part which follows the destruction which now concerns me, because since this is obviously all planned what will follow?

I was listening to the Jeff Rense show today and he said "We're witnessing a forced suicide of a culture/nation." He mentioned they're planning to remove Jefferson's & Washington's images from our currency (Jefferson is on the 2 dollar bill & Washington is on the 1 dollar bill). They're considering renaming all schools named Jefferson or Washington.

I found out that even though I'm a republican and on the conservative side I can't be because I'm not a communist.

When I hear some people say things regarding 'true conservative' aspects , I 'hear' right wing bigotry....and even racism pretending to not be. (disclaimer....not referring to any members here...)
It seems like they act like they are Christians but secretly they have plenty of racist ideas in private. I see this in family and friends who claim to be Republicans and for Trump. When you press them into an argument their true bigotry comes out in the heat of the discussion. One hears..."I'm all for people of color etc, but I don't want them living on my block or dating my daughter". Just an observation.....and I'm sure many 'conservatives' don't embrace those values.

I was told that the "ANTIFA" crowd were left wing fascists.....so that means the communists are now right wing. But then that was coming from people who had to be told General Lee fought for the confederacy and when I said the southern states seceded and fired on Fort Sumter I was told to check my facts. They sound confused so I'm not sure I can explain it any better than I have.

I think I get what you are saying. Left wing and fascism seems like a contradiction to me but then people have been mashing up all kinds of terms lately.
One can get so far to the left they come around to the right and end up fascists and or right wing communists.
Maybe we all need to start using a Venn Diagram...

Most are following the white circle....or at least the most vocal. I know its had me confused lately.
At least I know people won't be complaining to take down the Anthropoid Memorial without shooting themselves in the foot.....lol

Something more and more radicals want to see destroyed.

I do not want to see this country go down the drain as Venezuela has.
