it's now clear.. his advertisers have gotten wind of the grift. looks like one bailed on him. this IF TRUE marked the end of the Paracast. I expect the sob stories to continue

Right and if that is the reason they state for wanting a refund there is nothing Gene can do to refute that. An advertiser has every right to know and pull out if Schemey is doing anything which might reflect badly on them and their brand. It is not something that he can argue about. We saw how the front page of Google is now prominently showing this and other threads relating to his misdeeds. No advertiser would want to associate with that.

I want to believe that Advertisers are getting wind of his grift and starting to flee, but part of me can't help but this it's just him lying. It's just another example of a "convenient" disaster to perpetuate his decade long scam.

Or maybe he'll just throw Anders under the bus and claim he wasn't skilled enough to handle it but due to financial situations he could only use free labor? 1. "Got what he paid for" - I doubt the client paid for an advert that nobody would listen to on a podcast which has no credibility. If I had advertised with Schemey I would want a refund too. Even 10 cents to advertise on a podcast nobody listens to anymore is too much. I bet Schemey inflated his listening figures when selling the adverts too - if the customer reports that to Paypal there is no way they will take Schemey's side and since Schemey doesn't like transparency there is no way he would take it further.

2. We have seen Schemey's advertising price list (a recent copy courtesy of Paul Kimball if I remember right). Those prices begin at well over $1000. Even if he gave them a big discount the $200 figure has to be wrong. If he had 1.80 in his Paypal account and over a thousand dollars was charged back he would be more than $200 under. Schemey's arithmetic fails meaning he must have had more than $1.80 in the account. That is assuming any of this happened which you always have to say when it comes to Schemey.

I've definitely lost Gene's plot thread - not clear if he's in his 3rd motel or has moved on to a 4th; not sure which motel is refunding him money. At this point I'm guessing they're in the 3rd motel and the 2nd one is refunding them something to shut him up ("I fucked up and didn't extend my stay in time and fell twice moving out and I want my money back! I'll ruin your name with my podcasts!" etc.)

Whatever the case it reads like things could be getting authentically grim (as if living in an extended stay motel room with wife and dog wasn't bad enough) but it's hard to know with Gene. He could be lying about plenty; he's certain to be lying about something.

And I'll say, someone sending flowers to the office at his last apartment complex might've made him realize he should be quieter about his plans so no one gives would-be future landlords a heads up. Just a thought. He might have a lead on an apartment and be keeping his mouth shut. Maybe. It's not clear to me Gene learns from experience.

He has successfully made me want to see his new Anders-revised website. Unlike some I'm certain Anders exists, I just don't think his work will change anything for Gene.

untill the negitve balance is resolved ..bye bye paypal.

I recall Goggs used the Paracast as a tool to help him get through some tough times — I get that, do what you need to do to get right. He sold his reputation for Z-list celebrity, didn't even get paid. Obviously doesn't value himself much.

J Randall Murphy .. Gene's shill I highly suspect he bought his position as moderator and co host. Randall is deeply and fully involved in Genes grift. he is an enabler. He was shown evidence of the plot. he calls all of it defimation.
At one time I used to be like that. I defended Gene. bought his grift.
no more.. I was played.. I should have listened.
I hope one day Randall sees the truth but I think it will take the end of the Paracast..
When Gene goes down Randall will be right with him singing nearer the god to thee..

My wife used to work in the legal department of a very, very large alphabet non-profit that's always running ads with pathetic creatures and soliciting just a few cents per day. It's true that they do some good work and the people on ground level are sincere. BUT - way up high on their management chain there is waste and financial shenanigans so excessive as to be grotesque.

I don't think he refuses to seek government assistance - it is not like he is someone who has any kind of shame about such things.

I suspect he has probably asked for it at some point and they have told him that he doesn't qualify because he is living beyond his means and could easily fix his finances if he stopped doing that.

Government assistance is only for people (who through no fault of their own) are unable to support themselves. It is not there to support people who simply refuse to control their spending and live within their means.

Either that or he simply stopped the discussion as soon as they asked for copies of his bank records and financial documents in order to make the assessment - the kind of things they have to ask for.

In all likelihood it never even got far enough for them to tell him he was ineligible because Gene knew if they saw his financial situation that would only raise more questions and could get him into trouble with other parts of the government - e.g. bankruptcy fraud, withholding income, tax evasion etc.

So I'm pretty certain Gene would have tried to get it, it's just the authorities are used to people trying to scam them in this way (and so are much harder to fool than the average person who tends to take what people say at face value).

As soon as Gene realised that he couldn't con them out of money he would have stopped trying and doubled his e-begging efforts.

Without the co-host Gene is incapable of doing anything. He never reads the books and he sure as hell can't interview even on subjects he does know about.

All he can do is talk about himself, vacuous TV shows he watches (which is another way to broach his favourite topic - himself) and call time for those precious adverts for snake oil/gold scams and the like.

His contribution to the show is less than zero. I doubt he even does any post production as I suspect he does the editing in real time by stopping and starting the recording for the plus show (another reason why he is so distracted and doesn't listen to a single thing the guests say).

I tend to believe that he doesn’t want any government agency knowing what exactly he is up to. Having the government probing his financials would undoubtably raise all kinds of questions. Thus he pretends that various agencies have turned him down for help.

There is always some lie in the background that prevents Steinberg from getting onto his feet financially. I am betting if the bastard was somewhat truthful he and his family would not need to live hand to mouth, even if that probably isn’t the case in real life. Everything he says is surrounded by lies.
