My Dad just called me, He was coughing a lot it didn't sound like a regular cough. He could barely talk through the coughing. He has emphysema, But he doesn't cough much normally, I asked him if he was okay and he said. He had the flu a week ago. And not to worry. What's wrong with him isn't what I think it is.

But what if it is

I am looking for a very rare piece of information, I can't find an answer anywhere,

Can Someone over 65 with emphysema Possibly survive Covid-19?
I think My father may have it, He is beginning the steps to be tested right now. "Calling his doctor and setting up a screening"

For my own Sanity. I need to hear of at least one case of a 65+ yo with emphysema surviving this :(
if anyone runs across such information, please post it here.

Thank you for moving this, Thank you, brother, I need any positive news on this I can receive, his emphysema isn't incredibly severe, He's not on oxygen, But he does take nebulizer treatments.

I was already worried, but when he called me coughing like that and said he was setting up an appointment to get tested.
I don't even know the word for what I'm feeling right now, I will keep you guys updated on this.

I'm 55 years old and healthy, no pre-existing conditions, I don't smoke and I've self-accepted, for lack of a better word/phrase, the odds against me at about 25 percent chance of dying from this virus if it hits me hard and that's with careful consideration of many factors and how it's hitting others a little younger than me...Perhaps 25% is too high but it helps remind me not to take unnecessary risks, my job isn't worth the risk for example, I can get another job...

Dr.Birx said today the great majority of people being tested are negative, if that's any consolation. Another way to look at it.

There is no job worth one's life. Yes for a 55 yo you are one of the healthiest I know. Here in Kentucky. Most people don't age well, I've met 52-year-olds you would think are in their middle sixties here. If you travel a lot you will notice some communities are just healthier than others. You are Active, You exercise, You don't smoke and you have no preexisting health conditions. To be fair, I would say your chances of dying from this are almost non-existant. That's partly Truly What I Think And Partly me Wishing you the Very best brother. But in fairness, Your chances of survival are better than a lot of 55 yo's I know.

Plus you are a spiritual person, I know you to be so, A lot of people depend on you and you have sown a lot of positive karma, So The Cosmos Owes you A recovery on this.

First thing to remember is that your father probably doesn't have covid 19. The chances of catching one of the many other symptomatic viruses that are out there is far greater. His chances from this outset are very good but if he is positive then I think it folly to trust any other word other than from those in the profession.

Here is some information I can give, Last week my two nieces were at my mom's and dad's for the weekend, They both had the flu. But see, They are infants, They were taken to the hospital but not tested for Covid-19.

They are from further up north, a place called bowling green, There are cases of it there. But, With them being so young, How can we be sure it wasn't? I mean, I'm not sure. But hearing that most tests do come back negative, That's such a pleasing sound to the ear. Thank you, brother.

When faced with this sort of situation I revert to understanding that there is nothing that can be done so it's better to be calm and as optimistic as possible.

Easy to say when it is a default but still the best of what is on offer.

Mecklenburg county which contains the city of Charlotte in North Carolina is locking down their county beginning Thursday at 8 pm until April 16th...Charlotte is about two hours, give or take, away from me, I rarely go there even when everyone is healthy, but that area is one of a few hotspots for the virus in North Carolina currently...

Okay, I need to express these things, The worry and stress this is causing me is affecting my life greatly.

I got into a terrible argument with my mother yesterday, My mother got upset at me and told me, You always have to be number 1 in every situation the world doesn't revolve around you. To that I told her, No Mom, I've never been Number one to you, ever in my whole life, I don't care what my place in your heart is because it doesn't matter.
To that, she broke down crying. This, Is something I would normally have never done. I feel horrible. Like I feel like less than Dirt. But, It gets worse.

I have a new Dog, She is a baby Great Dane, I love her, Here is how I met her, I was In my back yard tending to Gitchie Marees Grave, My Baby puppy I lost last August. I was so busy I didn't notice this Little barely able to walk Great Dane came up to me. I looked around and No one was there looking for her, I took her in and fed her, She was literally about to die from starvation.

I've had her for weeks now, She has fully recovered and is energetic beyond belief. She Chews everything, No really, It's a problem, She Chewed all my cords to my ps4 and it's controllers and She chewed up My psvr. This alone, wouldn't have been enough to get me as upset as I got. But, She has chewed up almost everything in my whole home she can get her teeth on. She has cost me at least five thousand dollars in just a month's time. I was angry, So I gave her a butt whoopin.

But, That didn't really stop how angry I was so I began yelling at her, Angrily. No, You don't understand, An outside observer would think I was about to kill her or something, "She thought that" She was scared and trembling.
But, Then I begin Hitting the Chair she was hiding under, screaming at her, "you think this is a joke!! You are going to be an outside Dog, I don't even know If I want you anymore!!!"

Let me tell you something, Even as mad as I was, Even At the time I said it, I knew that wasn't true. I love her with all my heart, She met me at Gitchis Grave.

I'm so sorry for that, I literally hurt in my heart. Roxy Forgave me, And she still loves me, But I should have never lost my temper like that, I should have never went there emotionally, I hate myself right now, Truly and fully.

You should hate me too, I am a bad person.

I am working from home with a bad headache, because all shops had been cleaned off Paracetamol which is the main pain killer brand here in UK. Before box of Paracetamol cost about £1.5 in a store, now it's £5.5 + P&P on eBay.
