The past week I have been limiting my work hours at the Plant to about 5-6 hours a day maximum, I still have concerns about exposure to the virus because so many people who work in the same building as myself travel from surrounding counties with much much higher new cases per day than where I live...Although I wear a mask all day at work I don't wear glasses or goggles all day and I don't use gloves at work, yet I do wash my hands very very often...It seems these things like mask wearing are going to continue perhaps the rest of the year...
Six weeks ago I didn't want to leave my house for any reason other than essentials, I didn't go to the Plant at work for the first ten days, but since we didn't have a major outbreak here in my area and the workplace has been maintaining a clean status I started going back to the Plant more again...The owner of the company wears a respirator when he walks the facility now, he started wearing that over a hospital mask last week and limits his time on site to 3 days a week...No truck drivers or vendors or guests are allowed on the property unless they have prior permission...
Thanks China...

That sounds like a zombie experience.A couple days ago I had to drive to a big city to get some supplies because the small town shops I needed to go to have been closed...Last thing I wanted to do was drive out to that city which is infested with coronavirus, at least I didn't need to go into the heart of the city...

the more I look at first hand accounts, the more I am convinced that the virus mostly spread before the lockdowns,
and that it really does not hurt that many people.
I bet they reopen everything when they figure out that most of the people already had it and did not notice at all.
I think I fall under the category that there will always be stupid people in the world. Much like the Flat Earth crowd you will never be able to convince these people of the truth. I would rather not waste what precious time I have left trying to change their minds.I got a very interesting yelling-at or 'lecture' yesterday from a man who felt the need to tell me and everyone within earshot that this virus is all a hoax, it was caused by the flu shot, that the hospitals are empty. This is all part of a conspiracy to unseat Trump. Oh my achin' ball bag.
Later we spent some time listening to my sister-in-law and her daily crying fit about 'death death death' and how it's everywhere and we'll be paralyzed for years to some. This situation has literally caused her trolley to go off the track. She only became aware yesterday that the trains, buses and subways are still operating on a close to normal schedule and that there are zero road blocks - and she lives in Manhattan. She chooses to look at the world through her TV and tablet rather than out the goddamned window at reality. All too common.
The truth is somewhere in the middle. The media has done its best to raise the freakout to epic proportions and many seem to embrace it. Then there's just plain crazy with a side dishes of stupid and ... well ... extra stupid .... in abundance.
In this area we're starting to get antibody testing at urgent care facilities and pharmacies. I could get one today actually, but have no idea how much it would cost. Eventually we'll get tested and I wouldn't be surprised to find out it's far more widespread than expected.
there will always be stupid people in the world.
This morning the owner of the company I work for told a couple people on the production lines that an individual from this company is being tested for coronavirus and if that person's test results are positive we will will shut down the facility...
...
So a guy a work on the night shift has tested positive for Covid-19, the night shift has been shut down for two weeks but the rest of the facility remains open...This guy hasn't been in the Plant for over 10 days now so hopefully he hasn't spread it around, time will tell I guess, I'm at the facility now, I plan to leave in a few hours though...

When I read your posts about your job it seems you have gone above and beyond what is necessary. What I have learned in the past is when someone cuts your salary you will never see that money back. If a number of people quit on this owner, how does he expect to stay in business? It doesn’t sound like he is the type to get his hands dirty. Good luck on whatever you decide.Well I may be giving my resignation at work, the owner of the company sent an email to all managers stating he is considering a 20% reduction in salary wages because of loss of production due to the coronavirus and shutting down the night shift since an employee tested positive for Covid-19...This is absurd, if he cuts my salary wages I am done with him...They need me more than I need them, if he cuts my pay he can F%@& himself...
