Well hopefully yesterday was the last cold day as we move into Springtime weather, we are forecast to have full sunshine the next few days with a high of 60 today and reaching 80 degrees by Tuesday next week...I'm planning to til my garden are tomorrow and start my seeds indoors on Monday except for the beans and corn, I prefer to plant the green bean seeds directly in the ground along with the corn...I don't grow corn every year like I do green beans, I usually skip a year or two between planting corn, they consume so much water...

I have been thinking about A Brave New World and 1984 & Farenheit 451 a lot lately. To me these books were prophetic, cautionary tales that no one took seriously. Here is an interview with Mike Wallace and Aldous Huxley. Just think about how many people you know who are on mood altering drugs, anti-depressants etc. And his comments on politics is very spot on.

Not just people you may know, strangers too, there are more people who are on all sorts of drugs than one may realize, its astounding and frightening at the same time...These people driving around in their vehicles under the influence of whatever drugs they're taking or prescribed, I'm so much more cautious when I drive these days...

Speaking of driving, took the dog and went for a drive on the country roads for a couple hours...We stopped at our usual places for a hike here and there during our drive and stopped at the local park before coming back home to have another good walk around...

I did way too much work today outside, too much too soon after recovering from the hospital...I'm hurting all over, every muscle and bone...I got the garden tilled but did way more square footage area than I have in years, way more, felt good at the time doing it but now I'm paying for it lol...

Slept a few hours this afternoon after I finished but wasn't enough, still hurting a lot...Going to eat something and eat some Advil and go to sleep earlier than normal tonight, need to regenerate...

Spring cleaning in my workshop today, it's not all that dusty or dirty, but being closed up all winter it's an annual thing for me...I set off a fogger bomb a few days ago as I knew there were some insects and spiders that moved in and sure enough there were some carcasses to sweep up...I still have the propane heat set up since we're still having some cooler nights in case I want to be out in the workshop after sunset but I also got the AC window unit in place since the next few days are going to be highs in the 80s...It can get quite warm in the building without AC running when its sunny and hot outside, especially in the loft area since I have a dark metal roof...

Took a drive to the mountains this morning, spent half a day there with my dog, and it was really nice and warm outside too, although there wasn't as much green up there as there is around my house...The mountains are about a week behind with the green, likely because its been colder longer up there in the higher altitudes...I let Kobi swim in the river water but not too long though lol, that water is very clear but also very cold...This drive was a good longer drive test for my car, today's trip was the furthest I've driven my car thus far and it did just fine, no issues...Going for another drive up there this coming Sunday...

I thought I saw a house fly on the balcony door frame but when I got closer it is a black spider. Black widow spiders are native to Alberta but not very common in Edmonton. It probably isn't a black widow but I am scared of spiders so I can't get myself to go and take a closer look. It was just about to enter the room. I said don't you dare. It stopped dead in it's tracks as i it heard me and I shut the door. Now I'm scared to open the door and it's hot in here. :(

There is a huge wood spider downstairs right now that I will need a snow shovel to squish. They are harmless but big and fast. This one's just sitting there staring at me with its million buggy eyeballs lusting after my delicious flesh. Swine bug.

I think I'll let Frank and Louie take care of that one.

It's the occasional earwig or millipede that really gives me the wiggles.

Yes it's real. Everything in Australia wants to kill you.

They don't have to be big to scare me. I wish I wasn't so freaked out by them. To be honest, bugs in general are disgusting to me. Even a house fly can drive me mad.

Yep sure is I got heaps of them living in my woodshed they get into the house in the cracks in the logs. Its not unusual to turn on the light and see one sitting on the wall at night. I catch them and put them outside. I have never been bitten by one, yet.
