The power company has restored power to much of my area, my house never lost power, but the main road to get to my house is still blocked with two trees laying across it, I have to drive the farm roads to get home or to get out anywhere...
I haven't been to the city yet to see how things are at my business, I hear the highway is clear now so I'll be driving there in the morning, about a 40 min drive there on the highway...

The Carolinas are normally a very beautiful place to live. Many people are choosing to retire to SC instead of FL because FL is so overcrowded with retirees.

Met with a representative for a small company in my area to do a consultation for some servers they want to have put in place... myself and another intern were previously told there was "no budget in place" and to choose what we thought was best while also minimizing cost...
Of course, as an internship, we're being paid very low or not at all for this, however my fellow intern threw out the idea to them that they should have insane amounts of RAM in place (he tried to tell them the max RAM supported by this specific server caps out at 4TB...), more storage space than they needed for the servers that would be set up, and he even tried to tell them they should invest in robots...
After about an hour of back and forth between him and the representative, I pitched the specifications I came up with after researching last night, and he took mine, much to the dismay of the other intern...
All in all, it was a fun experience, if not a waste of time for the first half of it...

Where I am we only got a few hours of intense rain the other night, but nothing major at all...

The powder coat system at work has 8 ovens and oven number 6 was not working when I first took this job...This morning 2 1/2 months later I repaired oven 6 and its operational today...It took so long because of a variety of reasons...
First the entire system and all of the equipment came from Germany, everything was in German and no translation was in place or available...I spent 3 weeks translating everything I needed to begin troubleshooting the system...Also they have no programming laptop here for connecting to the PLCs...Fortunately I have all of this software myself walking in to this job, I have my own dedicated laptop with Siemens, Allen-Bradley, and Beckoff programming software...I did not however, have software for one major controller used on the ovens and it took me a couple weeks to locate and procure this software, but still there are over 100 parameters I had to reprogram manually for oven 6 after installing a new temperature controller...These ovens are natural gas burning ovens...
