The Paracast has been, in the past, a really excellent forum because of a lot of very bright, talented, and thoughtful people who were interested in the topics discussed on the podcast and the forum. Many, many of them have left because of the panhandling. I used to work weird hours, and also had some health issues that had me up at all hours, unable to sleep or do much of anything but sit on my ass in front of the computer. Thankfully, that's all years in the past. I saw a lot of things come and go within minutes on the Paracast forum, in the middle of the night.
Poor Old Gene cannot stand the least bit of criticism; we all know that. Some of what I saw (and got screenshots of) was appalling. Recently I ran across this, which I saved as an email draft so it's easy to copy and paste. This is an example of the sort of thing Gene's behavior has caused. I won't give the poster's screen name, but he was one of the most intelligent and sensible people I saw on there, and that is saying something. He had been a member for many years. The web image says that I clicked on this message three minutes after it was posted. Immediately after I saved it, I refreshed the page and it was gone. This really is sad.
I'm gone.
Having listened to the Paracast for many years now, I thought it was time to donate a little money to the show in good faith. I donated $100 to the Paracast on Oct. XXth.
Then this morning I receive this email from Gene Steinberg:

Thanks for the help, which came in the nick of time.
This weekend, I confront a rent payment, and, on Friday, I must pay the electric bill, phone bill and other critical payments.

Gene moved my issue about Paracast Plus access to a separate thread called Paracast+ Membership Glitch.
His words seem very frosty. He is claiming that I changed my user name and that this somehow changed the Paypal access to Paracast Plus. I would have to rely on someone with technical information here to explain. But I subscribed to Paracast Plus as SheaOlmsford on October 1st, 2017. I paid a year's subscription immediately then to pay for access until 10-1-18. I did NOT change my name. I always accessed the Paracast website, which recognized me (it had a cookie?). So I never had to log in to download the Paracast Plus episode.
Suddenly, after writing to Goggs MacKay about Gene, the Paracast website no longer recognizes me. when I try to log in as SheaOlmsford with my email address, I get a message that my account does not exist.
To me, this seems like someone pulled the plug on me. Gene seems to be saying it was my fault for changing my user name, but I didn't change my user name. I had a pre-existing name that I had not used in years on the forum but I wasn't using that to subscribe to the Paracast Plus. Perhaps Gene just doesn't describe things very well.
I know from experience that arguing with him is hopeless and would probably get me totally ignored. So I am saying as little as possible there and hoping Gene can grant me access again. He does not seem at all happy about this situation. He is quite annoyed that I posted this publicly instead of bringing it to him privately. But believe it or not, I do not have Gene's email address. Do you? Is this a common household piece of information in the USA? Gene actually accused me of knowing his email address and intentionally not using it.

The other day, while driving a passenger home via Uber, she politely asked my age. When I told her I’ll be 73 in September, she wondered aloud, “Why aren’t you sitting on a patio drinking lemonade?”
I didn’t want to burden her with my problems, so I gave her a very brief summary.
But it’s true that I do not expect to ever retire. I’m not alone. Senior citizens by the millions in the U.S. have returned to work because they need the extra money to survive.
I’m doing my best to boost my income. My health is decent, although I have the makings of a cataract in my left eye. But I may be years from needing surgery to correct the problem. I also relatively poor night vision, so I restrict my Lyft and Uber rides to the daytime.
Barbara’s health may be iffy. She has surgery scheduled for later this month to handle a digestive issue, but when she had a pre-op EKG last week, her doctor found a problem that needs attention first.
The doctor told Barbara she may have had a mild heart attack recently, based on the reading, so she is visiting a cardiologist Wednesday for further testing.
We hope the medical bills won’t be high. She has Medicare, plus a supplemental plan covered by Medicaid. Her meds are pretty cheap, but we haven’t been quoted a price on the surgery and other treatments she might need — at least not yet.
Meanwhile, the online pack of bullies is still at it, and I’m seeing some resistance signing up new advertisers. I hope it’s not because of their mischief-making.

Gene has given me access again to the Paracast Plus I paid for. I can also suddenly access the Paracast Forum as SheaOlmsford again. Thank you Gene. I appreciate it very much. I doubt I will participate in the forum but I am glad I can access commercial free episodes until October 1st. I hope Gene knows that he cannot just cut off any subscriber who has prepaid in advance for Paracast Plus just because he doesnt like their behavior on the Forum or in Private Messages. The forum is his to do whatever he wants. But if you accept money in advance from a customer to provide a service, you better provide that service, even if you have to hold your nose while doing so. That is what is called "doing business". Unless you are baking wedding cakes for gays, you can't just cut off your customers once they have paid you.

Beyond, I am glad your Paracast Plus access has been restored.
I took a look at Gene's responses to you on the Paracast forum and good grief, for a guy who is in constant need of cash, he truly seems to have never heard of customer service. I can understand him saying something like, please don't reply to the show discussion with requests like this, PM me or post over in this other area, thanks. Instead he has to wag his finger at you and lecture in multiple different posts... despite that it seems entirely likely he shut down the SheaOlmsford account, thus creating the problem in the first place. And if you only PM'd him, I have to wonder if he would have ever addressed the problem, or just banned your additional account. But that might have been too shady even for Gene. Well. Maybe.
And Thomas R. Morrison, not saying it is a terrible lapse in your knowledge or gap in your education that you weren't aware of Gene's grifty ways, but there is now plenty of info online if you wish to read about it. You may not. I do recommend this post and the comments to get an idea of the duration and scope of the issue, and Gene's responses to people questioning him: Is Gene Steinberg A Fraud?
Perfectly understandable if you don't really care but, I think it is interesting as an instance of the kind of marginal character seemingly often found operating within UFOlogy (to misquote Jeff Ritzmann's assessment). But it is sordid, sad and depressing as well.
I was surprised you weren't aware of these activities, given your activity level at the Paracast forum. Perhaps more of his audience is unaware of his shenanigans than I imagine. I feel he will never change his ways but if more people are made aware of those ways, and see that you can donate to Gene in March to help him fund a move to a new apartment, only to find him evicted once again in June... maybe people will realize supporting him with cash won't solve anything.

I do not make money off this site, never have from day one and never will...You will never see one single ad here, not even for guests...I do not need to make money here and I have no interest in doing so ever...That's one thing I get frustrated about when I go to various sites, to read news or whatever, I hate seeing ads everywhere...Not here...You will never be solicited money, if someone does that here, please report it to me immediately...This post above had the last sentence correct, be savvy regarding who you give your money and time to and I might add, be savvy on what you read online, there is a lot of nonsense on the internet, this comment I quoted above is a good example of nonsense...

I wanted to take a moment to personally thank you all for coming here, its wonderful that you are here, I am sure a few more from Paracast are also coming in their own time and some are on the fence about joining here or not...I have no doubts because of the drama and deceptions surrounding Gene and what he influenced on his forum that some of what has been said lately is largely influenced by that negativity...I feel saddened for what some of you have had to deal with, you know, one typically joins a forum to discuss the topics of that forum in an open and positive environment, not to have heaps of drama and negativity taint that environment...
We did not emerge here from the closing of AlienHub as some may think, that forum shut down unannounced to its members in the summer of 2017, we have been here since the summer of 2016...Our first year here had just a hand full of members that I could count on my hands and feet lol...That was fine, growing a place like this takes time and I wasn't in any rush right away to expand this place too quickly, Quality over Quantity, and we have a fine place here with a great group of people, including all of you...
Alien Expanse is as good as the membership in total, I may be the owner and fund this place but it is all of you, each individual member here that is really the heartbeat and pulse of this board, not myself...This forum is for all of you and will always remain here and be a great place to come visit and discuss things, because you all have made it this way...I love coming here every day and reading the discussions, comments, your thoughts and ideas, and I want you all to enjoy coming here as I do...

I felt quite certain that Gene would have done next to nothing to help me if I had approached him privately. You saw how frosty his responses were to someone who inexplicably suddenly was locked out of content they paid for. I have received a few poison pen emails from Gene prior to my problem chastising me in various ways (he likes to invoke shame if possible) for forum posts they he found unacceptable. I truly thought that a private request for help may have just resulted in a tart rebuff. Since Gene responded with veiled hostility even in public gives me a hint of how it might have gone if no one else was aware of my problem. Perhaps needless to say, I will NOT ever be renewing my Paracast Plus ever again.

I publicly answer a private question.
After I saw the hack was a lie. I started to look for a way out. I had made Chris a promise. But those in the camp that were pointing out the fraud that Gene was committing seized on several things. That before my twitter account was hacked that I followed two porn stars. One had political ties with a certain D.T. one was a favorite of my wife. After I regained the account I saw a comment posted that I did not send out on a twitter page about Gene. It was explicit. Those there began to refer to me as “porno Bob “ . this childish action angered me. I Had done nothing yet they began to denigrate me. I posted on the paracast that expressed my anger. It was also at this point I saw clearly I was enabling gene. I began to speak out. I at that point was ready to depart. Upset I was Being trashed by one side and used by Gene. Then Paranormal Davy happened. I saw what Gene was always saying was happening. I warned gene. I told him it was a trick. And by doing so I became more “On his side.” the “porno Bob” comments increased. I was on the edge. Finally two things happened to put me over the edge. Gene gave me his number. We talked. I told Gene I was stepping down. Gene told me that we had “Haters “ attacking a Moderator and if I had received any undue Pressure from the same hater.
I said NO. that is when he said “Goggs got some hate mail from a hater. “
so it is my hope that this answers some questions. I will of course be open and up front on my past association with Gene.
Did I consider him a friend? At one point I did. I Liked Gene, but the one I respected was Chris O’Brian
Only reason I stayed.
And lastly Do I hate Gene. No I don’t but I cant understand why he did this. Why he chose this way.
If he went and worked at the Apple Store He would be set. Heck if Gene had gone into a private tech service he also could make tons of cash. Gene has vast tech experience.
I feel sorry that it has come to this. That he is Homeless. But it is true..

After I saw the hack was a lie. I started to look for a way out. I had made Chris a promise. But those in the camp that were pointing out the fraud that Gene was committing seized on several things. That before my twitter account was hacked that I followed two porn stars. One had political ties with a certain D.T. one was a favorite of my wife. After I regained the account I saw a comment posted that I did not send out on a twitter page about Gene. It was explicit. Those there began to refer to me as “porno Bob “ . this childish action angered me. I Had done nothing yet they began to denigrate me. I posted on the paracast that expressed my anger. It was also at this point I saw clearly I was enabling gene. I began to speak out. I at that point was ready to depart. Upset I was Being trashed by one side and used by Gene. Then Paranormal Davy happened. I saw what Gene was always saying was happening. I warned gene. I told him it was a trick. And by doing so I became more “On his side.” the “porno Bob” comments increased. I was on the edge. Finally two things happened to put me over the edge. A few things from my point-of-view.
1. If the "stars" in porn are adult and their filmed interactions are always with other adults, then I see no problem. Our society is still so guilt ridden about sex. I have that same guilt drummed into me as a little kid when I had no defenses. But I have a more mature liberated adult self that goes beyond that early programming. My stance is that porn has a useful purpose, especially for singles and older people who "aren't getting any", so to speak. As long as the porn does not encourage a mindset that demeans either men or women, then I do not see a problem. So using a term for you that demeans you (for something the demeaners also probably indulge in) is pretty vicious.
2. I am the hater who wrote to Goggs referring him to the UFO Trails site to read about his glorious leader. I wanted to be sure Goggs, who always to me came off as a gullible fanboy, knew what was going on since he is off in Scotland. He knew and choose to ignore it. That was his response. I have no respect for Goggs. Then loo and behold, suddenly I could not access Paracast Plus material that I had prepaid for through October 1st 2018. This must be the wrath of the Lord, right? But Gene needs to realize you cannot just cancel an account of someone who has prepaid you for a service.
3. When someone reveals the TRUTH and the FACTS of Gene's nefarious actions, that does not make that person a "hater". But this seems to be a common ploy nowadays. When people present the simply facts about Donald Trump's actions or use actual footage of him speaking, Donald refers to such people as "haters". If I abused my wife and someone recorded it all on film, would that person be a "hater"? In my opinion, only a guilty person would smear the people who are simply revealing the actual FACTS of a situation.
4. You don't seem to get it. You still believe that Gene is homeless after all this? Did you see the luxurious place he is living? This is a gorgeous complex with pools, community center, a gym, gorgeous landscaping with palms, and all the amenities of a yuppie life. If Gene is destitute, why is he living in such a upper middle class place? Wouldn't it make sense to rent a cheap trailer? Phoenix is full of trailer parks that are well kept. Many snowbirds rent trailers when they spend the winter here. Remember, I live in Phoenix also. I know that a lot of Gene's "woes" don't make sense, since Phoenix (like parts of Florida) is very geared toward the elderly. The cost of living is pretty low. If you are destitute, you should not be renting a luxurious apartment as if you are a young technology executive or lawyer. This is like someone begging for money on a street corner while wearing an Armani Suit.

But today the evicted him.
Is Gene homeless? Maybe. If he is it's his own fault
he lived in a apartment that cost $960 to 1300 a month. it was gated full amenities.
yes you are 100% correct. he did live in the lap of luxury but today he was evicted. and it was his own damn fault.

Yes, I noticed today that Thomas R. Morrison is still posting glowing tributes to the Paracast. To me, participation in the Paracast forum signifies support for Gene and his fraudulent begging. Thomas now supposedly knows the truth about Gene, so why is he still schmoozing with Gene on the Paracast Forum? I just don't get the hold Gene seems to have on some of the long term moderators and participants over there. Gene is a shyster (a word my dad used a lot). Yet you pump up his show with glowing praise? I am going to give Thomas a pass on this for now. Perhaps he is just a nice guy who has a hard time taking a stand. Yes, some of the Paracast shows may be good, but in today's climate, do we really want to go on the Paracast forum and write gushing glowing reviews? To each his own, but not me.
