Yes, I noticed today that Thomas R. Morrison is still posting glowing tributes to the Paracast. To me, participation in the Paracast forum signifies support for Gene and his fraudulent begging. Thomas now supposedly knows the truth about Gene, so why is he still schmoozing with Gene on the Paracast Forum? I just don't get the hold Gene seems to have on some of the long term moderators and participants over there. Gene is a shyster (a word my dad used a lot). Yet you pump up his show with glowing praise? I am going to give Thomas a pass on this for now. Perhaps he is just a nice guy who has a hard time taking a stand. Yes, some of the Paracast shows may be good, but in today's climate, do we really want to go on the Paracast forum and write gushing glowing reviews? To each his own, but not me.

I asked a question of Greg Bishop, and he answered it on the last show, or rather, he responded to it on the show. So I wrote a rebuttal to his response. I like Greg - he's a sharp guy with a no-nonsense personality, so it was a fun show. God forbid that I should say that, before launching into 1000 words tearing apart the co-creation hypothesis, which everyone at The Paracast seems to be so smitten with, and ending my post with this:

"But I stand by my assessment that The Paracast habitually mocks the ETH and everyone who favors it. Anyone who listens to the show knows this. I keep arguing about it on the forums because I think it's grossly unwarranted to routinely characterize ETH advocates as simple-minded mouth-breathers who lack the expanse of mind to favor vastly less cogent theories about all of this. And frankly as a witness of these things I find it insulting when people who weren't there try to tell me what I did (or in this case, didn't) see with my own eyes."

And by the way - no, I won't be joining anyone's wicked little lynch mob to go after Gene Steinberg. He squared up with Shea here, once he was alerted to the problem. And asking for money may be annoying but A.) it isn't a crime, and B.) it hasn't happened to me. So I don't care. It's not my job to go around judging people. And honestly I've got much more interesting things to think about. If anyone has a problem with any of that, please put me on Ignore, because this is the last time I'm ever going to explain myself to some random twitchy stranger online.

The eviction hearing that someone found is tomorrow. As others have said one imagines the Steinbergs know how to work the system so I am not confident they'll be tossed out tomorrow. Nor do I really want to see anyone evicted. I just don't want to be a part of paying for their splendor either, or see others taken advantage of.

Again, I am not personally out to get Gene. I just have received his relentless begging emails and find this behavior very sleazy. I really do not wish to even discuss it further. But for Gene to turn this on its head and proclaim that we are the "haters" when we are simply revealing the FACTS of his behavior over the last 12 years is reprehensible. When does seeking money under false pretenses go from unethical to illegal?

Now Thomas says he just couldn't care less because it hasn't impacted him. And Thomas was invited here. Wow.

OK. I have concluded for good any comments on this topic (unless I need to defend myself for some reason). I don't need the melo-drama or hostile posts from those who will defend Gene to the death, so to speak.

The eviction hearing that someone found is tomorrow. As others have said one imagines the Steinbergs know how to work the system so I am not confident they'll be tossed out tomorrow.

In Arizona, after the landlord prevails in the eviction hearing, the landlord must wait 5 days before obtaining a writ to remove the tenant from the premises which is served by the constable, who has the authority to remove the tenant.

I know he was trying to live high on the hog.
But today the evicted him.
Is Gene homeless? Maybe. If he is it's his own fault
he lived in a apartment that cost $960 to 1300 a month. it was gated full amenities.
yes you are 100% correct. he did live in the lap of luxury but today he was evicted. and it was his own damn fault.

The court hearing isn't even until tomorrow. Gene is not homeless. He has not been evicted. Evidently, Gene holds out until the last possible moment when the Constable is coming up the drive way. That won't be for about a week from now. Just think how much money Gene can make between now and then from this sad tale of the evil "slum" landlord and his corrupt cruel government officials and the sheriff. I bet the Deep State is behind all this harassment! (Sarcasm)

Like yourself,I'm prepaid until January next year at the Paracast so I will still dip in there.I don't see this as enabling Gene as I won't be renewing.In some ways i feel sorry for him as his begging has become a compulsion for him and his desperation is rather tragic. Unlike Thomas,I do receive his begging emails i just ignore them.I give to certain charities and regularly get tapped up by other charities,I ignore these too as my charity is finite.It will be a shame if you leave here as I think it's a good place.I know where Thomas is coming from he's certainly no fanboy and I enjoy the way he sticks up for the ETH and makes the Woo crowd squirm.There's room for all ideas here,debate is healthy,it's how we learn and improve.Life would be a dull old place if we all agreed all the time.I've spoken to you before about Goggs,I might not agree with how he views Gene but that's his opinion.Finally,Gene's begging may be embarrassing and distasteful but in itself it's not illegal,so just ignore it.

Everyone I contacted and invited here was without personal judgement, personal opinion, or prejudices...I knew and know nothing of anyone that I invited with the exception of what has been shared on this forum...All I saw from an outsider looking in is that Gene has been abusing and misusing his platform and his members and I offered an alternative to everyone I was able to contact before my brief account there was shut down...

My viewpoint stands on its own merit because I have not been involved in Gene's drama personally, but that being said I am also a business owner and what he has done over the years in my opinion is very unethical, second ,very bad business practice, if he were a local storefront business he would not have lasted long, and third possibly illegal for multiple reasons, I'm not an attorney nor do I represent law enforcement but as I said I do own some businesses and know the laws that apply to me in running a business, so that's my opinion having recently stepped into this and researching it myself...

You were invited here too and I wish you would reconsider and stay, you have friends here and this is a nice place because there are some nice people here, some you haven't even met yet....At the least, let all the dust settle and let everything pan out and then have a look around and see what you think...

So apparently the churlish troll we bounced from The Paracast forums a few months ago (and who subsequently gained access to my account there for a few hours because of an insane login glitch with their software - many people experienced it over the course of the last year before Gene fixed the problem), noticed your posts at The Paracast and came here to stir up crap even before I signed up. And a few days before that, he made a fake facebook account under my name to send people I don't know, but are in this field of inquiry, bogus soliticitations over Gene's money problems.

Some people have way too much time on their hands. In a weird way it's almost flattering that somebody thinks that I have some kind of name reputation of value. But I don't, so it's kinda funny. Before me, he impersonated Walter Bosley: and he actually does have name recognition, and books, and public appearances and stuff. Assuming that the culprit is the infamous "Waller Joel" troll, he has also impersonated renowned skeptic Michael Shermer. In fact, the Waller Joel troll has way more public recognition than I do. Nobody knows or cares who I am; I'm just a random shlep posting online, like everyone else.

But at this rate people are going to start thinking that I'm some kind of celebrity, because the most infamous troll on the internet is spreading my name around among some of the best minds in this field. Maybe I should capitalize on the publicity and write a book, haha.

The real downside with all of this is that it's the low-lifes like this guy who force the State to increase regulations and surveillance on public communication systems like the internet, by abusing it. And that erodes everyone's freedoms, and thereby makes the world a worse place for everyone, including himself.

So what will happen tomorrow?
There are several steps.
1. The landlord must file a 5 day notice. Pay or quit. Seeing this was filed on the 29th. This most likely happened about the 23rd or 24th.
2. Next the landlord must file for a court ordered eviction. This happened on the 29th.
3. A hearing is done. This happens tomorrow.
4. If the court orders an eviction they have 7 days to get out. If they don't the sheriff will remove them.
But. If Gene pays the back rent the late fee and the current rent by tomorrow he stays.
The numbers are based on the apartment complex website for the least expensive apartment.
Back rent 960
Late fee about 50
Current rent 960.
Around 2k.
Once the hearing is done..Gene must move.

This is a common human reaction in the face of all evidence of a mistake. One can see it in action in front of slot machines where people convince themselves they have an "investment" there that will soon pay off. Some of his blather sounds like there are some regulars who don't have enough sense to stop wasting their money on the loser. Of course it could all be more BS, who knows? Obviously his shtick works or he would not keep at it.

He never got a cent from me. I use an adblocker at places run by people who can't figure out how to get decent ads on their sites, and it's always turned on at the paracast site too. Back when I used to listen to some of the podcasts, I endured the tedium of jumping past all the ads aimed at paranoid lunatics sitting in their bunkers, but still got exposed to an unhealthy amount of the crap.

I had a friend once who I helped out many many times financially, 100 dollars here and 300 dollars there, then I was paying his electric bill, a few times it's rent, after 6 years it dawned on me the reality of the situation, a thousand dollars a week some weeks was going to my 'friend' who could seem to never make ends meet and he was working too, I even helped him get a job...So I started asking for his help on various projects I had going in return for the money I was giving him, that lasted less than a week and he started complaining I was taking advantage of him asking for favours in return for money...So I cut him off, no more money from me, then I was his worst enemy, he went around telling people I never did anything for him and was trying to make him fail and yada yada...Needless to say, we are not friends any longer...

I liked reading news from dailymail but now they have pop up videos that automatically play on every page you click on so they lost me as a reader and member...I cannot stand a site covered in ads, who's owner can't or does not want to control the ad displays, the ads Gene allows is over the top and ruins the experience of a forum in my opinion...

Biedny though... well first of all he clearly had Gene all figured out back then. I applaud his decision to break with the guy.
