If I can give an example, As a person who has Did the whole use the internet to make money thing.

There are certain ways to do this, Most people think of Youtube, But that's the one everyone goes for, There are guaranteed ways to make income online if we know how. With Youtube, Of course, we make money from the ad revenue, But There are other ways, a Lot of people Don't know that Google Adsense works anywhere there is internet traffic. They pay a small percentage based solely on View duration. If there isn't enough, Then there is Patreon, Best way for artists and creators to get sustainable income and connect with fans | Patreon The soul of this community is, " I'm a starving artist, Feed me so I can continue my work" <--- Personally, It's begging if you ask me. Then there are super chats. Purchase a Super Chat - YouTube Help This is where the content creator or artist Speaks to a group of people, They are all donating money to the creator in exchange for chat with that person, I'm torn between this being a man playing guitar on the street corner with a hat to collect money, And straight up metaphorical prostitution.

Either way, These are the practices that Google itself teaches, it tells us how to use Google to make money, Anyone who does these things, Will make money...


Google set up a system, Turned all the creators into prostitutes and beggars, and people wonder why I Quit doing it all..

My point being, Gene was taught to do these things, By Google, None other than.
They teach us all that if we are around long enough.

You know we have all suggested the right ways to do things to him where he can make money without lying - including Patreon. He has refused to contemplate any of them. The theories on this range from the fact that he simply can't be bothered to put in the effort to the quite plausible likelihood that he doesn't want any kind of transparency on how much money is pulling in (something which Patreon would make quite obvious).

Well - again I might be wrong - I think the 'friends and family' option with PayPal just means you are not cutting PayPal out of the percent they should get if one is using PayPal to purchase goods or services. In Gene's case it's a donation - I agree, not really from Friends or Family, but he's not actually selling anyone anything either. I think he's in the wrong in countless ways but I am not sure the Friends and Family thing violates terms with PayPal. If it does then I hope they rebuke him.

Right and I may be wrong too. All that matters is what Paypal decide as like many banks and financial institutions they are a law unto themselves. I have heard of them banning lawful people whilst going out of their way to keep crooks on.

That's why he keeps things as opaque as possible and never gives any proof for anything. The only proof we have is from public records and in every case that has completely contradicted what Gene said. He is at the very least a man who lives beyond his means and lies to obtain money from others in order to do it. People who really need help are open and honest because they have no choice.

He seems to believe he is entitled to other people's money to spend as he pleases without any kind of questioning.

This is why he will never use Patreon because then people could see exactly how much money he was getting and prove that his claims of poverty don't add up.

His own son had to move to the other side of the world to get away from him. Gene used his name to rent an apartment which he defaulted rent on (Gene is a professional squatter) and permanently destroyed the son's credit rating so I really don't blame the son for trying to get as far away from this toxic parasite as possible.

This is the calibre of man we are dealing with. He will beg, borrow and steal from anyone and everyone no matter what the consequences are as long as he can keep on spending the money.

A host of websites would pop up telling me all about Steinerg’s financial misdeeds. How people can be so gullible is beyond me. I guess if you have a list of thousands of names a few people will be stupid enough and send Steinberg their cash.

They will be in for a rude awakening when Steinberg keeps dogging them for more money. Live and learn, I guess.

I haven't listened to much Paracast in a very long time (I did listen to a bit of an episode not long ago) but I'm guessing Gene sounds put-together enough still on that show that he is granted some credibility with listeners. So if you think Gene is your buddy with that podcast you like, and then you get an email that good old Gene is in a bind, maybe you see if you can toss him $20 or what have you. I don't know. This likely worked better back when he wasn't pulling this pretty much daily - sometimes more than once in a day.

That's his best trick. The Gene on the Paracast may be a complete bore but he at leasts sounds rational and respectable completely different to the impression you get if you know what we know.

Ergo people believe that he is in real crisis or at least they did but even the most gullible person by now must realise that a temporary crisis can't last a decade (even if they are ignorant of the full details).

The only people it can work on are new listeners who don't know the history. That can't be a big number and is likely getting smaller all the time.

Also remember Anders? Gene doesn't.

I don't know.

I just know not to take what Schemey says at face value, ever. If there is a "crisis" only he can resolve it.

He is spending beyond his means.

That is a simple problem to solve - he just needs to control his spending.

If he deliberately chooses not to resolve it then it is no longer a crisis by my definition. At that point it is a lifestyle he is choosing.
