Eh, I don't think so, I think they were her comments on Facebook. I don't think from her perspective she was helping him grift, I think she feels like things are tough all over, poor Gene, he's trying to get help and the "trolls" are after him. That's how I read it anyway.

Would be too much work for Gene to fake a page for his ex-wife on a long term basis. He also can't manipulate FB accounts the way he can on his forum.

Yeah... at least he is trying to peddle a service, rather than beg.
Naturally he is thinking of himself: “If we could boost membership to as little as 1,000 members, many of my personal financial troubles would be history.”
Only “many” of his personal financial problems would be solved if 1,000 people started paying him $4.99 a month.
And 1,000 subscribers. Nothing delusional about that number.
Looks to me like he needs to update the offer text on the Paracast+ page he links to. I doubt all of those items are still part of the deal. Seems outdated in general.

PS... that won’t fix his financial problems as we all know and he certainly knows. It’s merely a cry in the wilderness for more funds.

Even if he did magically get 1000 members I doubt that would solve his fundamental problems.
The guy never budgets and has a history going back to at least the early 1990s of living beyond his means and having to default on debts. I don't think this behaviour would change even if he got 10,000 or a million members paying him.
All he will do is move on to buy things which are even more expensive, a more expensive car, a higher end apartment etc.
The problem is not his income, the problem is his mindset - he is one of those people who must have things which are out of his reach and he is unwilling to work or save up for them.
Also I agree that this is purely hypothetical anyway. It is too late for him to work on expanding the Paracast plus. Why he didn't think to do this years ago I don't understand.
He should never have gone on GCN in the first place - all it does is destroy the show with constant interruptions that earn him nothing and the ads are for embarrassing garbage and scams. Whether you get the paid version or not the interruptions still destroy any hope of a decent conversation and that was when Chris O Brien was still there.
Now he is gone there is nobody worth listening to anyway.

There is nothing left that is worth listening too, his reputation and that of the show are trash now - and the cohost Mr Slave (Randall) is not enough to make up for it (I doubt anyone could).

That's Gene in a nutshell. The guy is outdated and stopped learning and evolving sometime in the 1990s. He thinks he is still on AOL. It makes it all the more absurd that he has a Tech podcast but then Gene loves the absurd -remember the financial consultancy?

It would have fried his ass if by chance one of the Parcasts regular posters won the Powerball/MegaMillions - just knowing that someone that he is acquainted with has a billion dollars in their checking account that could solve all of GS's problems - then some......but only if he can convince that person to give him some of that jackpot. Those private messages would be interesting to read (between GS & the person that won the $$$).
