Did I mention the chickens? These bastards got chickens and let them run loose - had them all over the driveway and lawn. I didn't have to do anything, the critters in the neighborhood did.

Around 11 years ago when I first moved to this house and neighborhood I'm at now, the neighbor down the road had a bunch of guinea fowls running around loose...It didn't take long for me to see them to run down through the meadow and into my yard randomly...They did that about 4 times as far as I know, because it wasn't long before my dog also saw we had guineas around...When two of them went running across the backyard that fourth time he was out there watching and waiting and took off like a bullet after them...He almost got a bite of guinea arse before hearing my neighbor yelling Nooooooo at the top of his lungs as that neighbor came running out of the meadow searching for those guineas and seeing my dog about to have a snack lol...Needless to say we never saw the guineas running through my yard again...

Well, I have an easier time of dealing with intrusive animals and more experience dealing with dogs than my wife. Being twice her size it's just easier for me with some things. One problem with all this is that she's getting freaked out thinking that just taking our dog out back might result in a bad tangle and she's 100% right about that. The other is that we have each tried politely to speak to them about it, as did one other neighbor, and they just blow us off. F U comes in many forms. This is me being protective of her.

Disputes and issues with neighbors arise sometimes but when animals are involved these are uncontrollable elements, meaning they may know their dogs and their behaviors but in new surroundings and on the loose the dogs will expand their horizons and test the waters so to speak...

When I first moved to the house I'm at now I didn't allow my dog to run free on the property right away...It was almost a year later before he was off his lead, which is legal in the county, no leash laws here...I trained him and walked the boundaries of my property so he knew his limits before he was allowed off the lead...It worked too, he will sometimes run off ahead of me when we go outside but he knows the boundaries set and rarely pushes it...

Took our 90 town car to the shop. To have the valve cover gaskets replaced and the motor surged when coming to a stop , and under load it had a miss fire. $869. and a week later. But it runs great again. They changed valve cover gaskets, ran a diagnostic, replaced the MAP sensor, tested ignition voltage and output voltage of each cylinder, replaced pvc valve, a breather in the valve cover, and changed all the plugs. and know the electronic gauge clusters gas gauge reads correct too labor $537, parts $273, shop supplies?$30. A while back i had new front rotors and brakes put on, and converted the rear to coil springs in stead of the air ride. so i guess i have put near $1600 in it this last year. The sad part is average retail is $3600, low is $1400. so i wont get my money back out of it. but its a mechanically sound tank of a car thats paid for. hell i only bought the car for $500 15 years ago and not had to do much to it at all. I also had to reset the idle control on my f150, the battery went dead for a week and ever since it would die at stop signs when you had the a/c on. So what i did was disconnect the neg battery cable and take a wire or something to be able to touch it to the positive for a minute to drain the memory, than startyed the truck and let idle for 15 minutes, than put the emergacy brake on put in drive with the lights and a/c on max. and let idle for 10 minutes. drove around after that and it never once tryed dieing with the a/c on. accually the f150 ran pretty good for a 4.6 with p.i. heads, cam, intake. thing really comes to life on top end. One thing i really miss is tinkerin around on my 71 442. and remembering how scary it was to shift to second at 5000rpm with that 462 olds, felt like the whole car leaped 30 ft when it hit 2nd.

I wouldn't normally be up now but we're having thunder and my dog is flipped out. If I try to go back into bed she will follow me and that's a no no. She's shaking like a leaf and there is no sleeping with that going on. So here we sit .... zzzzzz .....

Our new cat is getting her first taste of thunder and rain. She tries to hide when she hears a thunderclap. When sitting in the bay window, she tries to attack the water dripping down on the outside of the window. It is quite amusing to watch.

I've been in the living room and had not seen Kobi for a while, then heard him growling in my bedroom just as I was getting up to find him...It was one of those random days he has when he decides to jump in the bed and roll off all the pillows to the floor, then the blanket and top sheet comes off next...Usually the fitted sheet stays on but this time he managed to get half of it off...lol

Maybe you could keep a hose on with a power nozel and if the dog comes close to your yard you shoot it in the face. Most dogs will back down with that kind of treatment. The trick is to catch them 3 times in a row getting close to your yard. (most dogs remember after 3 times).

I have one of those loud air horns you hear at ball games - theoretically anyway I haven't detonated it yet. Hopefully if I can scare the behoobers out of the dog it'll just stay away. Could happen, they get freaked out over weird things. I am a weird thing.

Since wendsday I been scarce here.
There is a reason. WendsDay was my twin girls 19th birthday. I took some vacation time. A crazy wendsday.
Kate got a pride tattoo. Debbie spent the day with friends. A mad crazy day. Thursday was just as mad. Friday we packed up to go to devil's lake. We return tomorrow. A wonderful family trip. Full of love and devotion with my twins. Even our youngest got into the act singing Happy birthday with her girl scout troop.

Yeah I don't think dogs like to be sprayed with water under pressure, at least I know my dog doesn't like it...He will swim in a river like it's nothing but spray him with a little water from the garden hose and he cant stand it...

I have a spray bottle that I use to teach my dog manners. It works. Sometimes all I have to say is "Spray bottle" and she quits what ever inappropriate behavior. My friend uses it to get her chihuahuas to stop barking, and my daughter is using it to train her new puppy. It works a lot better than yelling. I do still have to take my dog to the ground and roll her over occasionally. She is part red healer and that instinct is strong in her. She is also dominant so I have to keep on my toes to make sure she knows who the pack leader is.

A steel can with some loose change in it and a plastic lid makes a great rattler that will startle a dog. A good kick in the ass will too. Not enough to hurt simply to directionally orient and motivate.

My mom used an empty clorox bottle with rocks in it. It worked for dogs making a rukus because they were in a crate or barking at nothing. as long as they don't see you throw it at them.

This is an idea for a song and maybe someday, a video, with a damsel in distress. When the freight train pulls up to the depot, she has no place to hide but the Engine.
The train pulls away and the Engineer is then seen showing her how it works... she blows the whistle... then you see a sunshining day, water n trees, steam and wheels... tracks beneath... a few more images of pressure guage and levers and a gloved engineer hand gesturing explanation ... her head and shoulders leaning in... And the final scene... she is wearing an Engineer hat, coal dust on her chin, and clear eyes looking forward, as she eases the break and throtles up..

I like it but the innuendo takes the scene away, I was thinking they got their freak on right there in the coal dust and .... well you get the idea :)

Taking my car to the repair shop for a front end alignment and tire rotation early this morning, 0730 is when they open and that's when my appointment is...

Yeah. I don't really want that innuendo thing.
The focus will need to be more about, adventure, leaving cares behind, and beautiful scenery and feelings of freedom, and empowerment. Thanks for the feedback.
It helps.

Wow the wheel alignment on my car was bad, all four wheels, glad I got that done...Now the only sound I hear from the wheels are the tires which are worn uneven lol...I'll get new tires in a couple months, sooner if the current tires don't wear back closer to even again...

My foster brother texted me a couple of days ago and told me that his ex wife died. She was younger than I am, but she didn't take care of herself. She died of complications due to diabetes. How bad can one let things get? I feel really bad for his daughter, she is in her early 20s and was taking care of her mother. Her two older half sisters were nightmares last time I was around them and they are coming for the funeral. I just hope they have grown up, they are in the late 30's.

I just needed a place to put this I guess. I hope everyone is doing well.
