Bragg won’t charge wounded NYC garage worker who shot suspected thief

A few hours ago the DA WAS going to indict the garage worker on attempted murder charges. But not now. Timing is everything, right? A bodega worker a few months ago was jailed for defending himself just as they said this guy would be and was only let out after a huge stink. Good - he shouldn't be. Were it not for Tuesday this garage worker would have his ass jailed.

Bragg is a political windsock and that city needs a big chrome flush handle at this point.

Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg will not prosecute the parking-garage attendant who shot a suspected thief after getting wounded himself, the DA’s office told The Post on Sunday.

Moussa Diarra, 57, was shot twice by alleged thief Charles Rhodie, 59, early Saturday before turning the tables on the suspect and pumping a bullet into him with the accused criminal’s handgun, authorities said. Yet cops charged Diarra with attempted murder, assault and gun possession in the case, while Rhodie was slapped with those three raps as well as burglary. But Bragg — who is already under fire for indicting former President Donald Trump last week in a fraud-related case — will dismiss the case against Diarra “pending further investigation,” his office said. The raps remain against Rhodie.
“We are more than pleased with the result,” Diarra’s lawyer, Charles Clayman, told The Post on Sunday.
“I think what they wanted to do was sort things out, and both men had been shot,” he said of police. “And they just didn’t have time just to start talking to witnesses at that point.

Obviously not the perpetrator,” he said. “So all’s well that ends well.”
The shooting occurred at a West 31st Street parking garage around 5:30 a.m. Saturday, cops said.
Diarra spotted Rhodie peering into cars in the garage and confronted him, demanding to know what was in his bag, police sources have said.Rhodie allegedly responded by pulling a gun and shooting the attendant twice.

An NYPD rep said Sunday that the cops’ decision to also charge Diarra was made “with the guidance of the DA’s office” and referred further questions to prosecutors.

Diarra’s lawyer said Sunday, “We were in constant touch with the DA, and I just think that the police on the scene felt that that was the right thing to do.
“And then things would be sorted out by the DA, and I believe that’s what happened.”

The case bears striking similarities to two recent Manhattan cases that were later dropped by Bragg’s office.
Junior Aquino Hernandez, a worker at a Harlem fish market, was initially charged with murder for stabbing one man to death and wounding his brother Feb. 21.
Hernandez, 34, claimed self-defense when he fatally stabbed 25-year-old Malik Burrell and wounded Robert “Bobby” Burrell, 29, saying the pair returned to attack the fishmongers after getting caught trying to steal shrimp.
Prosecutors eventually dropped the murder charge against Hernandez pending further investigation.

Last year, 61-year-old Manhattan bodega worker Jose Alba also was famously charged in the stabbing death of Austin Simon, who was seen on video assaulting Alba behind the counter.
After widespread outcry from the community and some local politicians, the charges against Alba were also dismissed.

Furious Trump demands Alvin Bragg 'indict himself' and 'resign' for 'illegally leaking' details of indictment that include 34 felony counts and NO mugshot or handcuffs - just hours before his Manhattan arraignment

Furious Trump demands Alvin Bragg 'indict himself' and 'resign' for 'illegally leaking'

Donald Trump (middle) will not be handcuffed or have his mugshot taken according to sources within the Manhattan district attorney's office. The former president, who is in Trump Tower ahead of Tuesday's arraignment, reacted with fury to a leak from DA Alvin Bragg's (left) office, and immediately called for the top prosecutor to resign. 'Wow! District Attorney Bragg just illegally LEAKED the various points, and complete information, on the pathetic Indictment against me,' he wrote on Truth Social. 'This means that he MUST BE IMMEDIATELY INDICTED. Now, if he wants to really clean up his reputation, he will do the honorable thing and, as District Attorney, INDICT HIMSELF. Trump faces 34 felonies according to the source. The report cited 'a source who has been briefed on the procedures for the arraignment of the former president.'

Alone, somber, all grandiosity gone… never has the great showman looked so diminished. But this wasn't only the worst day of Donald Trump's life - it was the moment America became a banana republic

(Excerpt)

Surreal doesn't begin to cover it. This country, this great ongoing experiment, just arrested and indicted a former president. This is the stuff of banana republics.

Gerald Ford pardoned Richard Nixon for far greater crimes against democracy for the very sake of democracy. At the time Ford was vilified, but history looks upon him kindly; this was the defining act of an otherwise unremarkable presidency.

Little wonder Trump looked as if he could barely raise his fist this morning outside Trump Tower. Little wonder he listened to his lawyers and declined to be handcuffed. No mug shot, either.

Whether pro-Trump or against, reasonable people can agree: such images aren't just rocket fuel for his imminent run. They are a defiling of the office he once held.

America deserves better. Anyone taking glee in these events would do well to consider: next time, it's very likely your candidate – your side. The precedent has been set.

The president of El Salvador says the US can't go wagging the moral finger of Democracy in everyone's face anymore after this. I didn't care for that behavior to begin with but he's right. We have become the laughingstock of the world.

The other condition that arises like Trump Derangement Syndrome is 'I'm sick to death of this horseshit' syndrome. The endless shrieking, hair pulling, the carrying on. Even the local news is infected now. Isn't it blatantly obvious now that this is all a reaction to Trump? ALL of it that has led us here? Impeachments, Supreme Court confirmation hearings. What would have happened if they found a painting of Trump in Monica Lewinsky's dress in Jeffrey Epstein's home? Oh fer ***s sake.

This isn't a pro-Trump statement because I am equally sick of him. It's pro-ME statement.

I saw most of that. It was (allegedly) a Republican/Independent audience - certainly sympathetic. Collins hates this man's guts and has made her bones like many others either vilifying or worshiping DT. Entertaining but cringeworthy at the same time.

I really wish he and Biden could step aside and someone else, younger and (gasp) actually qualified would come forward. Riding a unicorn ..... (if I'm going to indulge in pure fantasy)

Special Counsel John Durham releases four-year report into FBI's Trump-Russia probe and finds 'biased' bureau had NO 'factual evidence' of any collusion and NO right to investigate

Durham's final report is RELEASED: FBI did NOT have evidence to investigate Trump-Russia
Special Counsel John Durham found that the FBI did not have enough 'factual evidence' to investigate allegations of Trump-Russia collusion, in scathing report obtained by DailyMail.com The report states that 'based on the evidence gathered in the multiple exhaustive and costly federal investigations of these matters, including the instant investigation, neither U.S. law enforcement nor the Intelligence Community appears to have possessed any actual evidence of collusion in their holdings at the commencement of the Crossfire Hurricane investigation.' 'FBI records prepared by Strzok in February and March 2017 show at the time of opening Crossfire Hurricane, the FBI had no information in its holding indicating that any time during the campaign anyone in the Trump campaign had been in contact with any Russian intelligence officials.'

Hillary Clinton's plan to 'vilify' Trump by linking him to Putin was briefed to Obama and Biden before the election in 2016 - while the FBI and DOJ restricted investigations into her campaign, Durham report says

The FBI should have done more to look into Russian intelligence analysis suggesting that 2016 presidential candidate Hillary Clinton had personally approved a plan to 'vilify' her opponent Donald Trump by claiming foreign interference in the election, according to the Durham report.

Special counsel John Durham's findings, published Monday, represents the long-awaited conclusion of a probe that Trump and his allies claimed would show massive wrongdoing by law enforcement agencies.

Durham concluded that claims about Clinton's attempts to smear Trump received less scrutiny than allegations about her opponent, even though they were serious enough to be taken to President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden.

Durham admitted that the claims were not corroborated or verified, but compares it with the now-discredited Steele Dossier, outlining Trump ties to Moscow, which formed the basis of further investigations.

Brett Favre says Donald Trump had US 'in a better place' and 'really cared about our people' as he questions if Joe Biden 'has the same mentality'

Pro Football Hall of Famer Brett Favre once more expressed his support for former President Donald Trump, stating No. 45 'had our country in a better place.'

Favre conveyed his reasoning for supporting the likely 2024 Republican candidate while simultaneously questioning President Biden.

In a wide-ranging interview with The Blaze's Jason Whitlock, Favre very briefly discussed the Mississippi welfare scandal but mostly touched on his football career and a range of political and social topics.

'I think Donald was a non-political president, and I liked that about him,' Favre told Whitlock on his Fearless show.

'Was he perfect? Absolutely not. Am I perfect? Absolutely not. I'm flawed just like the rest of 'em. We're all flawed. But, I really felt like he had our country in a better place and really cared about our people in our country.'

Furious Trump glares into the camera and shakes his fists as judge sets Stormy Daniels trial for March 25, 2024 - in the middle of the GOP primaries and just months before the presidential election

Trump, appearing by video conference at a pretrial hearing in the hush-money case, glowered at the camera as New York Judge Juan Manuel Merchan advised him to cancel all other obligations for the duration of the trial, which could last for several weeks. Trump, wearing a blue suit against a backdrop of American flags at his Florida estate, then turned to a lawyer by his side - their brief discussion inaudible on the video feed - before sitting with his arms folded for the remainder of the hearing. Trump had pleaded not guilty last month to 34 felony counts of falsifying business records at his family company, the Trump Organization. Trump has made the New York case and the long list of other investigations he faces central to his campaign to reclaim the White House, portraying himself as the victim of a coordinated effort to sully his chances. Trump often discusses the cases at his rallies and in other speeches, and has repeatedly attacked prosecutors and judges by name. At Tuesday's hearing, Merchan reviewed an order barring Trump from publicly disseminating certain evidence turned over by prosecutors.

Here we go again!

Trump continues to stay in the spotlight and gain traction because these people keep going after him...Honestly the country would be much better off going with a Libertarian president instead of choosing between Democrats or Republicans...
