Meanwhile we can see that the "redesigned" Paracast Forum that "Anders" (Gene clicking the update button) has helped to create is now a hive of activity. Great success! So many customers for the forthcoming merchandise store when Anders finishes it (sometime in the next century).

If you post at the Pukacast there is no chance of your post being lost among many other posts. It will be on the recent posts list for weeks.

You forgot to add that after a short while he will delete all your posts and permanently ban you too. Sometimes he will delete the entire thread.
It's part of the Schemey formula for success (failure for normal people).
Say you don't mind people disagreeing with you. Then react extremely aggressively with them if they do, followed by deleting all the evidence it ever happened and banning them.
It is the only way to make the forum grow (shrink).

Well he is trying to unload the Tech Night Owl Live, the lesser of the two websites. That is worth practically zero in my estimation. You can bet he would want top dollar for the Paracast. Maybe $50k to $100k, depending on if he could find a sucker to buy it.
You have to remember, the Paracast is his main begging vehicle. He gets his lists of members and others by the Paracast. He gets revenue from the Paracast+ as well. He also hits up his guests in this manner. As a paranormal/UFO site, it is worth next to nothing.
He has a handful of regular members these days. I doubt very few buy the junk trinkets he is pushing.

I'd say the value is close to zero now. Gene has destroyed the brand and any future potential it has.
Given his lack of ethical standards I doubt that Steinberg would hand it over without keeping a list of all the members details (and maybe even some kind of backdoor so he can log in and steal information for new members).
So the name is mud and I wouldn't really trust the site/mailing list to be safe either.
Why would you take on that risk, rather than starting with a clean slate? I can see no reason why anyone who has a legitimate interest in the paranormal would want to buy it now.
You would just be giving yourself an impossible mission in trying to rehabilitate it's reputation. You would also have to rebuild a completely new site from scratch anyway in order to be sure that Schemey didn't have some back door to sleaze his way back in. Perhaps that would be considered overkill by some but I wouldn't trust Schemey to do anything honest if his life depended on it and so I believe that is the only way to be sure.
That would all cost extra money on top of whatever crazy price you would have to pay the sleazebag to get it in the first place.
Just not worth the outlay when you could save yourself a tonne of time and money by just starting from scratch and not burdening yourself with the stain of Schemey.

The only thing of any value in any of the Paracrud Empire is the forum archive. It would be cool if he sold it to nivek or someone like him who would keep it accessible. There is a lot of good stuff in there, almost in spite of Griftboy's involvement. I hope he does something intelligent with it before it vanishes into the ether. I'm sure his price would be completely unrealistic, just like everything else of his, so I don't expect that to happen.
I suppose the podcast archive would be worth saving. Barely. There is some really good stuff in there, in among the crap and the ads aimed at the mentally deficient.

My theory has been he likes to play chicken with his landlords, paying them late and pushing his luck. I don't know why; maybe he thinks it's smart to have more of the money under his control for longer, or maybe I'm wrong and he just has never figured out how to budget or prioritize. But with the Desert Mirage, I felt like he tried his chicken game again and they just did not fuck around or cut him any slack and he got the boot (wise of them, I'd say). Gene likes to blame his eviction on the "online hate pack" or a "troll" but that's nonsense.
All of the loans in his bankruptcy filing certainly make it seem he does something with every bit of cash he can get his old paws on, but what? Not paying the rent, we know that, seemingly not until he has no other choice. So yeah, maybe motels are the place for the Steinbergs. My apologies to the staff at motels where they stay.
As for the begging, I can only guess, but guess that it is compulsive behavior and that he also has something he does with the money, or some reason he feels it is important to get it. Again I look at those loans in his bankruptcy filing and they make me think here's a guy who is living beyond his means. Anything from the begging likely goes toward that lifestyle, whatever it actually is. I'm not convinced it's gambling but I am not in any position to know.

There is one solid fact to this Steinberg saga, we will never hear the truth from Steinberg’s lips. If he can sucker people into donating, he won’t ever give anyone the facts. I do wonder what will happen when reality hits and the “ new and improved” Paracast doesn’t bring the returns that Steinberg thinks it should.
My guess is he will have to blame those “ugly trolls” for derailing his great plans. There’s no way he will ever admit to living beyond his means.

You're not being harassed, you have ZERO legal recourse. You could attempt to prove slander; however it will be almost impossible. You have aired out your problems to the masses and continued to contact people who never asked to be contacted. These"stalkers" and "trolls" are just investigating the specifics about who is asking them for money over the past 10+ years.
As for the people contacting your guests and advertisers, you would have to prove in court their accusations are demonstrably false and spread with malicious intent. News flash, that's insanely hard to do even when it's true defamation, and impossible for you because it's just people who will be protected by acting in good faith as consumers.

What he doesn't seem to get is that just because he provides and opt out doesn't mean it's okay to add people to a fundraising e-list without prior opt-in. It's not illegal but it's super unethical, which we know he has zero of already. I'm just pretty fired up about this one today.
