New visual epoch for me. Almost my whole life I've worn glasses. This involved wearing them during all working hours for all purposes. Almost 2 weeks ago I had a second lens replacement to match my first in my other eye. As a consequence, I no longer need glasses for distance. But I
do need them for
reading, including on the internet. It's a new experience for me to have to manually "switch" though I've seen others do so for decades.
I've had to change my zoom settings for websites. Interestingly, because of the zoom functions in PDF readers and MS Word*, it's better without the glasses to get the right focus.
I guess it's not that huge of a thing as I've always worn glasses, but it's still something to get used to. I probably will need to carry my reading glasses in class I need to read a label or menu or whatever.
* OT: I don't know if I ever mentioned it, but years ago I came upon an excellent pair of
macros for MS Word that permits one to
zoom in or out instantly via CTRL + and CTRL-. This feature is native to PDF readers, but not Word. They are so convenient that whenever I set up a new laptop or reinstall Word, I make sure to transfer them. If you need them, let me know.
