Just for reading glasses why?...

I have discovered progressive/multi-focus reading glasses to be superior to the basic type. Much easier to switch between distances.

I still use soft contact lenses. With them in I just use a pair of 1.5 magnifiers and they work really well - I just park them on the end of my nose. Still reluctant to have corrective surgery. I've heard driving at night becomes much more problematic after that, IDK.

I would never have gotten corrective surgery for it's own sake. In each eye, the basic objective was cataract removal, with the lens replacement coming along for the ride.

As for reading glasses my opinions and experiments are still ongoing.

I have no problem reading without glasses however I need corrective lenses to see further away, especially driving at night...I considered trying contact lenses a few years ago but I don't like the thought of sticking something like that right on my eyeball...I read about the various problems that come with corrective surgery so that's out of the question...I don't wear my glasses all the time anyway, my sight is not all that bad, I can drive during the day fine without glasses, in fact it's not required by the State and they tested my eyes 3 years ago when I renewed my driver's license...The only time I really wear corrective glasses is when I drive at night or when watching a movie in the theater...My sunglasses are prescription too so when it's really sunny outside and I'm driving I'll wear those glasses...Other than those scenarios, I dont wear my glasses, my eyes haven't gotten any worse fortunately...

Will my American-ness get cancelled or revoked if I say I actually prefer the metric system ?

Baking, gardening or calculating nutritional value in pet food it is so much easier to deal with. The length-o-the-king's-nose measurements get frustrating fast.

Carpentry, turning wrenches on old cars, get the hell away from me with them mms. Hell, last deck I built my old tape measure just flew into my hand like a lightsaber when I needed it.

I've nbeen getting use to the metric system. Using a digital calipers for tuning ports on my 2 stroke bicycle engine.

For dosing out fertilizers it's much easier for sure.
I have and use a bunch of metric tools but tend to think in SAE.

I should have left my bike stock . The zeda firestorm 80cc . Not . Waiting on a oko 21mm carb now. It couldn't get enough air and ran real lean with all the other performance mods I've did. I should be hitting close to 10000 rpm at 50mph with a 40 tooth sprocket.

I hear that but you don't know until you know so chalk that one up.

I wasted two years on an old Holley 750 4160. Jets, pump cams, shooters. Now I know better. The brand new Holley 600 was the answer. That and tracing pesky vacuum leaks that weren't apparent before.

Yea goin from a 16mm carb to a 22mm carb is a big difference. I put a different head on it was 1cc bigger , that and a dittbike coil and cdi is what changed dhit around on how the throttle felt. And it leaned it out alot.

This is more about shopping than car stuff. RockAuto has a fantastic website with tons of good info, far better than most. Go pick something you want and hit the 'info' button. Extremely useful. But then go to buy it and you'll have heart failure with shipping.

Amazon bakes a lot of the shipping costs right into the price you see. Plus, I am a Prime customer and I pay for that annually but we get all sort of media; movies, tv shows etc. in addition. The return policy is amazing. I make the return online, get a QR code and just hand whatever it is with no packaging right to the tiny UPS Store right down the road. 9/10 I get a text saying I've been refunded before I even get home.

So for the same stuff I just wasn't going to hand RockAuto and extra $20 for the same stuff on a $36 order.

Bezos might be a little buggy-eyed Elmer Fudd looking billionaire who was rude to Captain Kirk after his suborbital lob but I want him to have his mega yacht and hot girlfriend. Makes me feel better and he doesn't inflict a jingle on me.

I had to order me some micro drill bits. I think I'll be needing them for jets. Sizes .3 to 1.6mm.i can see me breaking the darn things easily.
