No polishing except for inside exhaust port and inside tranfers.Did you polish all that ? Beautiful attention to detail
I have been trying to clean up an old aluminum valve cover that I finally just painted just so it's painted. I'd need a media blaster to fully strip it and there was oxidation that's just in there
I still have a KAL 36mm socket i only used 1 time, back in 1986 to take a flywheel nut off a vw bug. Bought from a snapon truck, so $$. We ended up breaking 2 craftsman breaker bars before we finally got it off.. The 66 bug i turned into a baja, put a bigger motor with a cam and headers, vroom vroom but here lately i`ve been going to harbor freight mostly for a mini file set, a rotary tool. a few tings like that. For us wrench turners I've found a neat US company that makes some very well made tools you won't go broke buying:
The Innovator in Specialty Tools Since 1903
I've got a set of thread chasers they made that are superb. Just ordered a pair of CV boot clamp pliers. Worth looking at if you're shopping for a specialty tool.
I also hate to admit it but lately Autozone has put itself in my good graces. Mostly it's that like any retail store the turnover rate is high and they tend to run hot and cold. For that reason I avoided the one right down the road until the other day. Lots of OEM Tools in there - well made and Duralast that claim to be guaranteed for life. I grabbed a metric 6 point 3/8 socket set for $16. So far they seem fine, they turn da nuts & bolts.
Horrible Freight is still there and they have their purposes and occasional use. Like laxatives. Only when you need it, IMO. That said, I grabbed a 1 1/4" impact socket 1/2" drive for like, $4 the other day as opposed to $21 at Autozone.
I think I posted this before, but this was a fool/drug addict brought to Home Depot a few times to let sit in the lunch room dripping fuel. For some strange reason, people objected.
That's art ... two different color duct tape. Black to secure fuel tank and stop (no not really) the rust hole leak and I guess silver is the high performance stuff you need to hold that carb/cylinder head together. Not just everybody can do that you know - some folks are ingeniously creative.

Wife was cleaning our 18 year old sons bedroom and found fetish and bandage stuff and she asked me what to do? I said I wouldn't spank him.
